Description This value set was replicated from US Core's Detailed Ethnicity Set (http://hl7.org/fhir/us/core/ValueSet/detailed-ethnicity) and reuses the HL7 provided OID as it retains the same scope.
Purpose (Clinical Focus: All concepts used to describe a person’s ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. Includes the two top-level OMB categories, detailed descendant concepts, and codes representing reasons for absent ethnicity data.),(Data Element Scope: Personal ethnicity information),(Inclusion Criteria: Includes all descendant concepts of "2133-7 Ethnicity" from the Race and Ethnicity – CDC code system, excluding the root concept itself. Also includes select codes representing data absence reasons from HL7 NullFlavor and the FHIR Data Absent Reason code system, such as "asked but declined.),(Exclusion Criteria: Excludes all concepts that are not descendants of "2133-7 Ethnicity"—including any concepts under "1000-9 Race"—as well as the root concept "Ethnicity" itself. Also excludes null values and data absent reasons not explicitly included in the value set.)
